Navratri is an important Hindu festival. The words Navratri means “nine nights” in Sanskrit, and during this festival, Hindus worship goddess Durga. Navratri is also a time for feasting, fasting and dancing. On each of the night of the festival, Hindus offer prayers and food to goddess Durga. They also fast during the day and eat only certain types of foods, that are considered to be pure and nourishing. 

Dandiya nights are organised in Navratri in which people perform Garba 

Garba 

Garba is a traditional dance from the state of Gujarat in India. Its often performed during the festivals and cultural programs in India, people wear colourful and traditional dandiya dress popularly known as Chaniya Choli, it is a joyful and vibrant dance filled with energy. People of all ages can participate in Garba. Garba is also a way of expressing happiness and togetherness for Gujaratis.
